Tammy L. Rumsey

Tammy Lynn Rumsey, 63, of Norwich, died on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital.

Born on April 6, 1962 in Norwich, Tammy was a daughter of the late Ronald and Barbara (Meade) Brown. She was a graduate of Norwich High School before attending college. Tammy worked for Rite Aid drug stores in the packaging department and for Wal-Mart in the office.

Tammy was a founding member of a Facebook comedy group which she enjoyed posting in. She liked baking, crocheting, and taking care of her family – especially her mother. Tammy also enjoyed her dog, Ellie Mae and cats, Freddie and Minnie.

In 2015, Tammy married Steven Rumsey, who survives. In addition, Tammy is survived by her children, Gary Easler, of Norwich, and Sarah (Casey) Love, of Buffalo, NY; siblings, Tim (Corazon) Brown, of Melbourne, FL, Kim (Kevin) Curnalia, of Norwich, Mark Brown, of Quakertown, PA, Scott (Audra) Brown, of Leominster, MA, and Tom (Linda Makowiecki) Brown, of Churchville, NY; and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased in death by her brother, Terry, in 1996.

A private service for Tammy with her mother, Barbara, will be held in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted with the Wilson Funeral Home.
