Richard A. Pomeroy

Richard A. Pomeroy, 72, of Norwich, died on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at Chase Memorial Nursing Home with his wife at his side.

Born on November 2, 1953, in Walton, NY, Richard was a son of the late George and Ginny Pomeroy. He grew up in East Branch, NY, was a graduate of Walton High School, and earned an associate’s degree from Morrisville College. For a number of years, Richard drove trucks for various food distribution companies including Schwan’s and Entenmann’s. Richard loved music and played bass in several local bands. He also greatly cared for children and pets.

On July 21, 1982, in Pittston, PA, Richard married Michele Selleck, the love of his life.

In addition to his wife, Michele Pomeroy, he is survived by his son, Tim Pomeroy, of Trumansburg, NY; his childhood friend who was like a brother to him, Don Haskins, of Deposit, NY; dear friends, Cheryl and Jeff D’Aprix, of Gainsville, FL; Goddaughter, Lynea D’Aprix, and her husband, Justin Robillard, of Mexico, NY; Godson, Damian D’Aprix, and his finance, Sara Sanders, of Ballston Spa, NY; neighbors, Ina and Jim Homovich, of Norwich; his roommate of five years at Chase Memorial Nursing Home, Gerard Savianeso; many extended family members on his wife’s family side who he cared for deeply, and his many pets.

Richard’s family wishes to thank the care and support given to Richard and his family during the last five years.

Friends are invited to call at the Wilson Funeral Home, 68 South Broad Street, Norwich, on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
