Patricia A. “Pat” Forster, 67, of Sherburne, died on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at Chase Nursing Home, in New Berlin, NY.
Born in Norwich on July 16, 1954, Pat was the daughter of Wayne and Rose (Garofalo) Forster. She spent her childhood in Sherburne and graduated from Sherburne-Earlville schools with the class of 1972. After high school, Pat worked for B.C. Plastics and the Norwich Shoe Company before she had a long career as a cashier for W.T. Grant’s in Norwich. She later worked as a clerk at the Red Apple gas station in New Berlin. In addition, Pat was a former Avon representative.
More recently, Pat was the business manager for LT’s Tables & Stuff, owned by her lifelong partner, Skip, on her childhood homestead. Together along with the woodworking business, they operated a bee-keeping enterprise. Pat was an avid gardener and loved working with children. She was a 17 year 4-H Leader earning many awards including being listed in the 4-H gallery of achievement honor roll. Pat and Skip started the S.A.R.E.P Fishing Club in 1989 during which she planned and held fishing derby’s, taught fly tying, and chartered numerous hatchery and fishing trips These accomplishments earned her various community awards including at the Chenango County Fair, the United Way Community Service Award, the “Top Ten Club Achievement,” Top Cookie Sales, Volunteer of the Year, and the Charles and Palma Goodwin Community Service Award numerous times.
Pat is survived by her lifelong partner, Lash “Skip” Taylor, of Sherburne; her sister, Nancy (Rick) Jackson, of Norwich; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Pat was predeceased by her brothers, Stanley White and Donald Forster.
Burial will be private and occur at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Norwich. Contributions in Pat’s memory may be made to The Place, PO Box 509, Norwich, NY 13815.
