Pasquale V. D’Abbraccio, 72, of Norwich and former owner of Pasquale’s Pizza, died on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at UHS Wilson Medical Center with family by his side.
Born on June 26, 1952, in Naples, Italy, Pasquale was a son of Salvatore and Angela (Cassella) D’Abbraccio. At the age of nine, with his parents and brother, Pasquale relocated to America where they docked in New York City. As a young kid, he shined shoes before starting a job as a dishwasher in a restaurant. As he continued to work in the restaurant, Pasquale tried his hand at pizza making- a skill he mastered and continued throughout his life. For eighteen years on Long Island, he owned and operated his own restaurant before relocating to Norwich. In 2001 he founded and ran Pasquale’s Pizza on North Broad Street until 2012 when the business changed names to D’Abbraccio’s and relocated to South Broad Street. Most recently, Pasquale helped his daughter at her restaurant, Angela’s, in Norwich. He will be remembered for his famous “Grandma’s Pie” pizza.
A jokester at heart, he enjoyed giving his friends and family a hard time. If not in the restaurant, Pasquale could often be found at Off Track Betting, making a few horse bets. He enjoyed playing cards and watching sports; especially the New York Jets and New York Mets. Most of all, Pasquale always made time for his loving family.
In 1974, Pasquale married Catherine Urso in Astoria, Queens, NY, a bond which has continued for the past fifty-one years. In addition to his wife, Catherine D’Abbraccio, Pasquale is survived by his five children; John (Rose) D’Abbraccio, of Norwich, Josephine (Fran) Loiselle, of Oxford, Angela (Brock) Titus, of Norwich, Catherine (Steve) Babb, of Stroudsburg, PA, and Pasquale (Harley) D’Abbraccio, of Norwich; grandchildren, Michael D’Abbraccio, Sophia D’Abbraccio, Emma D’Abbraccio, Connor D’Abbraccio, Gia Wilcox, Julia Demeo, Anthony Loiselle, Adrianna Titus, Jordan Titus, Landon Babb, Jackson Babb, Kennedy Babb, Dominic D’Abbraccio, Gabriella D’Abbraccio, and Vincenzo D’Abbraccio; and brother, John (Valentina) D’Abbraccio, of Astoria, Queens, NY. In addition to his parents, Pasquale was predeceased by his brother, Joseph (Josephine) Langellotti.
