Nathaniel Jenkins

April 16, 1984 — January 15, 2024

BINGHAMTON — Nathaniel James Jenkins, 39, left this world to explore the beyond on January 15, 2024, following a tragic house fire.

Born in April 1984, he spent his young years in Norwich with his mother Janice (Jenkins) Coulson and brother, Roscoe 'Caz' Walker, along with his many cousins and friends.

In school, he was both on the wrestling team and football team, where he donned number 31 for the Purple Tornadoes.

Nathaniel had an upbeat aura and often made those closest to him smile or laugh, even through difficult times.

While he opted to take a tougher road as he made his way into adulthood, he remained resilient despite most of the setbacks he encountered.

Nathaniel struggled with both mental health and addiction during his adult life, yet he would still do his best to help others in his situation try to navigate the best he knew how in the moment. And despite his homelessness, would still give the little he had off his back so others could eat or have clothing.

His parents, Janice Coulson and Arthur McKenzie, along with brother Yancy McKenzie, sister Iris McKenzie, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins, survive. His closest friends, whom he always considered brothers, Norman, Anthony, Nate and Thomas also survive.

He has two sons, Justice and Rockwell Jenkins, with Ashley Biviano.

He's predeceased by his brother Caz (2003).

Nathaniel's dream was to start his own landscaping business.

Wherever his soul is now, he's likely coming up with ideas to beautify the land, while watching over his boys.

Family and friends are invited to join and remember Nate, on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.. Services will be conducted at Wilson Funeral Home in Norwich.
