Matthew T. “Matt” Ruquet, age 37, of Norwich, entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
Matthew was born on July 30, 1988 in Warwick, NY and lived in Port Charlotte, FL before returning to New York in 2017 to be with family.
Matthew was a beautiful soul full of life. He poured his heart into his family, friends, and his four beautiful children, who he loved with every ounce of his life. Matt loved turning wrenches, fixing cars, riding dirt bikes and four-wheelers, camping, traveling, barbeques, and sharing laughs and stories with his loved ones. He also enjoyed trips to the casino with his brother and the time he got to spend in New York City for Pokémon-Go fest with his siblings. Matt was a prolific artist and made many paintings and drawings during his life.
Matthew is survived by his mother and step-father, Joanne and Michael Cutler; his four children, Hailee, Thomas, Zoey, and Marianna Ruquet; wife, Rylee Ruquet; brother, Anthony (Stacey) Ruquet; sister, Elizabeth Beadle; uncle, Frank (Teresa) Ruquet; nephew, Casen; nieces, Emalee, Natalee, Brooklynn, Adelynne, and Eliana; cousins, Frank (Samantha), Justin (Alexis), David, Stephanie, and Kimberly.
The family wishes to thank the support and care given to Matt and his family at the UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital ICU during his last few days.
Friends and family are invited to call at the Wilson Funeral Home, in Norwich, on Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. with a funeral service to immediately follow.
