Lee C. Frey, 74, of Norwich, died on Monday, April 27, 2026 at Chase Memorial Nursing Home in New Berlin, NY.

Born on Augst 4, 1951, in the Bronx, NY, Lee was a daughter of the late Carl and Rosamond (Nachmann) Frey. After her high school graduation, Lee spent her adult life as a professional photographer. The masterpieces she captured won her many awards. Lee also was a photographer in countless schools every year capturing student and teacher portraits. During her career, Lee became the official photographer for Former United States Representative, Benjamin Gilman. Later in her vocation, Lee taught photography at Orange County Community College.

Lee enjoyed bicycling, camping, fly fishing, spending time in nature, and cruises. Throughout her life, she traveled to China, Italy, Hong Kong, and Thailand. Lee was also a member of the Chenango Bird Club and enjoyed bird watching.

On February 16, 2018, Lee married Rudy Hoke, who survives. Lee is also survived by her sister, Kris (Kenny) Viles; sister-in-law, Mary Lou McAvoy; brother-in-law’s, Paul Carey; niece, Kim (William) O’Toole; nephew, Brad (Cristine) Carey; great niece, Allison O’Toole; great-nephews, Liam O’Toole, Jack Carey, and Benjamin Carey; nieces-in-law, Karen (Robert) Crown, Kelly (Bruce) Wooley, Kathy (Daniel) Black, and Bethany (Eugene) Nichols; great nieces-in-law, Megan McAvoy, Katelyn (Richard) Gigilotti, Kelsey Black, and Mackenzie Nichols (Nik Barber); great nephew-in-law, Cory (Hope) Black; and many great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Ann Carey.

A celebration of life for Lee will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Norwich American Legion, 29 Sheldon Street, Norwich, NY 13815.

Memorial contributions in memory of Lee may be made to the Chenango Bird Club,168 Knapp Knoll Lane, Oxford, NY 13830.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted with the Wilson Funeral Home.
