Jacob S. “Jake” Hagenbuch, 20, of Norwich, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026.
Jake was born on August 9, 2005, in Durango, Colorado. In his early years Jake lived in Pagosa Springs, Colorado and later Mesa, Arizona before he moved to Norwich, where his family was in 2019. He attended Norwich High School graduating with the Class of 2023. While in high school, Jake studied in the BOCES construction carpentry course. Upon graduation, he worked at Park Place, Dickey’s, McDonald’s, and Raymond Corporation. Most recently, Jake was a cook for Moi’s Center City Bistro – a job he took great pride in and became very skilled at.
Jake loved Mixed Martial Arts, boxing, hiking, was a dinosaur nerd at heart and enjoyed rap and rock music. He cared deeply for his family and friends and would do anything for anyone in their time of need – especially those less fortunate than him. His smile would light up a room and would make everyone’s day better. He had a passion for stargazing and spending time outdoors. Jake loved to cook and was always trying new and creative dishes. He also loved dogs – including his dog, Michael. Jake loved unconditionally and displayed them with his infectious hugs. If there was an easy way to solve an issue, Jacob always took a different route by exploring different avenues. He was ambitious, loved life, and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
