Gail B. Frayer

Gail B. Frayer, 77, of Norwich, passed away at UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.

Gail was born on September 7, 1949, in Norwich, a daughter of the late Angelo and Betsy (Prindle) Garito. She graduated from Norwich High School in 1967 and later attended beauty school. During her life, Gail worked for Champion Products, Service Pharmacy, and owned and operated her own store, Christian Harmony Book Shop, on America Avenue for many years.

Her greatest joy in life was being a grandmother. She always made Christmas extra special to her grandkids. Gail was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Norwich. She enjoyed drawing, crafting and making flower arrangements for her church. Gail enjoyed her many trips to Old Forge, NY and looked forward to her train and boat rides there. She took care of her many friends and would help anyone in need. Gail had a huge heart and will be missed by many.

Gail is survived by her son, Pastor Matthew (Rena) Frayer, of Preston; grandchildren, Alley Frayer (Olivia Haskell), of Binghamton, Abigail Frayer (Alex Winterberger), of Rochester, and Ashlee Frayer (Pearl Daz), of Preston, and Joshua Frayer, of Preston; sisters, Cindy (Ted) Guinn, of Norwich, and Judy (Rich) Hadlock, of Oxford; sister-in-law, Joan Bresina, of Norwich; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, “Pooka.” In addition to her parents, Gail was predeceased by her granddaughter, Alea Grace Frayer and brothers, John Garito and Marty Garito.

A private celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.
