Frank Vischi, 72, of South Plymouth, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2022 at the VA Medical Center, in Syracuse, NY.
Born on October 19, 1949, in Norwich, Frank was the son of Frank and Carmela (Quattrocchi) Vischi. After graduating from Norwich High School, Frank enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1969 and served during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge in 1971. After his discharge, Frank worked for a dozen years at the Hamilton House furniture company. Then, Frank began work as a mail carrier for the United Postal Service, beginning in Bainbridge but then spending decades as a mail carrier in Greene, NY, until his retirement.
Frank was an avid fan of all types of sports, and enjoyed going to Turning Stone casino to gamble. He also was fond of his monthly get togethers with his retired postal service buddies. Frank often played cards at home, especially Sudoku and spades, and completed many puzzles of scenic images.
Frank is survived by his sons, Robert Vischi, and his wife, Brenda, of South Plymouth, and John Vischi, of Norwich; grandchildren, Cooper and Alexandria Vischi; siblings, Richard Vischi, Tomas Gonzalez, Esteban (Lisa) Gonzalez, and Diana (Darrin) DeWitt; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Carlos Gonzalez; and stepfather, Herminio Gonzalez.
Friends of Frank’s are invited to call at the Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday, July 23, 2022 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. There will no funeral service.
