Emily Grodecki

Emily Grodecki, 86, of Norwich, died on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Binghamton General Hospital. Emily was born on January 17, 1939.

She enjoyed a long life with her children and grandchildren always nearby. Emily spent time working at a local bank, at The Place, and volunteering wherever she could. She was an avid lover of crossword puzzles, and enjoyed inspiring colored pen art. Emily was a keystone member of her small community, with a heart built to share good food and enjoy the small moments with everyone.

Emily is survived by her grandchildren, Derek Sutton, of Groton, CT and Damien (Abi) Sutton, of McDonough, NY, Jessica Sutton, of Hudson Valley, NY, and Nathan Boardman, of Phoenix, AZ. She was predeceased by her former husband, William Grodecki; daughters, Barbara Grodecki and Lisa (Grodecki) Sutton; and granddaughter, Danielle Avery.

Emily’s family is very thankful for all her friends over the years from Norwich Senior Housing, where she loved living.

Emily was fortunate to enjoy many holiday meals during tough times from the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 37 West Main Street, Norwich, NY 13815. Any support to them in honor of Emily would greatly represent her spirit, and benefit the community.

There will be no formal services for Emily at this time.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the Wilson Funeral Home.
