David J. Barnhart

David J. Barnhart, 54, of Norwich, died on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY.

Born on February 5, 1970, in Sidney, NY, Dave is a son of Sylvia Meehan and David G. Barnhart. He attended school in Norwich and served honorably in the United States Army in the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC from 1992-1996. Dave worked for the Raymond Corporation in Greene as a fork lift operator. He had a passion for rock music and played the drums, the guitar and sang.

David is survived by his father, David Barnhart, of Guilford; mother, Sylvia (Robert) VanDeusen, of South Otselic; sons, Dakota (Sean) Barnhart, of Boiling Springs, SC, Dalton (Sarah) Barnhart, of Snow Camp, NC, and Kyle Barnhart, of Denver CO; grandsons, Hudson Barnhart and Jonah Barnhart; sister, Jessica (Cody) Christopherson, of Norwich; step-siblings, Robert VanDeusen, of WI, and Tammy VanDeusen, of Whitney Point; fiancé, Nancy White, of Norwich; and best friend, Joe Bulwin, of Sherburne.

A graveside service for David will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the NYS Veterans’ Home Cemetery, 4207 NY-220, Oxford, NY 13830. Funeral arrangments have been entrusted with John Antonowicz of the Wilson Funeral Home.
