Christopher M. “Chris” Rothwell
Aug. 11, 1968 – Feb. 12, 2025
Born in Norwich, Chris graduated from Norwich High School in 1987 and then served honorably in the United States Army. For many years, Chris resided in Florida and worked in construction. He was a friend to his employees and enjoyed working with them. Chris will be remembered for his love of family, hunting, fishing, tinkering skills (he could fix anything), his willingness to help others, and his time relaxing at his river home with family and friends (enjoying a cold one after working hard all day).
Chris is survived by his wife, Sandy Mapier-Rothwell (the love of his life), of Jacksonville, FL; his proud parents, Edward and Fran Rothwell, of South Plymouth, NY; his sons, Dyrick and Dylhan Rothwell; stepson, Dustin Spencer; his grandchildren and beautiful step-granddaughter, Payton (a joy to Chris in the last years); siblings, Blane Rothwell (so close even with so many miles between them), Nona and Allen Shapley; and several nieces and nephews.
Many thanks to his Florida family who worked so hard on his Celebration of Life. Chris was so blessed to have such wonderful people in his life. Chris’ family would like to thank all the family and friends that came to Park Place to toast and honor his memory, and all who traveled to Florida from Norwich to celebrate his life! It was truly heartfelt by his family.
Don’t remember me with sadness,
Don’t remember me with tears,
Remember all the laughter,
We’ve shared throughout the years.
Now I am contented
That my life it was worthwhile,
Knowing as I passed along the way
I made somebody smile.
When you are walking down the street
And you’ve got me on your mind,
I’m walking in your footsteps
Only half a step behind.
So please don’t be unhappy
Just because I’m out of sight,
Remember that I’m with you
Each morning, noon and night.
