Carmine M. Politano, 96, of Norwich, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital. Born on February 18, 1930, in Brooklyn, NY, Carmine was the son of Guiseppe and Maria Rosaria (Longo) Politano. He grew up in Brooklyn and helped take care of his family growing up including his father’s shoe business. Carmine honorably served in the United States Army.

During his life, Carmine was a licensed lock smith, a butcher, and a successful real estate agent in Brooklyn. He enjoyed fishing, adding to his various collections. He also a member of The Order of Alhambra, the Knights of Columbus and a former Mason member.

In 1955, Carmine married Anna Blackwell, who predeceased him on December 15, 2018.

Carmine is survived by his son, Joseph his wife, Cathy Politano, of Afton; grandchildren, Fina-Ann ImbrendaPolitano, Caterina (Wesley) Baker, Josephine Politano (Bret Dyson), and Victoria (Marc) Davis; great grandchildren, Zachary, Leia, Lorenzo, Josephine, Serafina, Ezra, and one due in October; and niece and caregiver, Maria Sandoval. He was predeceased by his sister, Ida Politano, in 2019, brother, Louis Politano, in 2021, and sister, Mary Politano, in 2022.

A funeral service for Carmine will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2026, at the Our Ladies of Sorrow Chapel at St. Paul’s Cemetery. Burial will immediately follow.
