Beverly “Bev” Curley, formerly of Norwich, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 in Rochester, NY.

Bev was born on November 25, 1937, in West Carthage, NY. She was the daughter of the late James and Ethelyn (Middleton) Clark. She had one sister, Janice, who predeceased her in 2019. She attended school in Dexter, NY. She moved to Norwich after marrying her first husband, John “Jack” Clark, who predeceased her in 1959.

On June 5, 1964, Bev married her second husband, William Curley, who predeceased her on November 16, 2017. They enjoyed taking their dogs for walks at Borden Ave Park and going for rides in the country every night then stopping at McDonalds for coffee.

After first moving to Norwich, Bev worked as a waitress at the Blue Bird Restaurant. She also was employed as a keypunch operator for Norwich Eaton Pharmaceuticals for a few years before deciding to go to beauty school to become a beautician. She owned her own shop, Bev’s Beauty Salon, for many years and enjoyed every minute of it. She also drove school bus for Norwich City School District for several years.

Bev enjoyed genealogy, ceramics, bird watching, gardening, and going on vacations with her daughter.

She loved animals, especially her beloved dogs. She was known to take in strays on more than one occasion.

Bev is survived by her cherished daughter, Lisa Curley (Dan Balewick), of Rochester. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Brenda Curley, brother-in-law, John Anagnost; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Bev will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the Wilson Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow at Willcox Cemetery, Smyrna, NY.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted with the Wilson Funeral Home.
