Sergeant Timothy R. Annesi Jr., 34, of Norwich, passed away unexpectedly after complications from a chronic illness on Sunday, March 17, 2019, into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Born on April 2, 1984, in Norwich, Tim was the beloved son of Patricia (Cleveland) Carpenter and Timothy R. Annesi Sr. He was a graduate of Norwich High School with the Class of 2003. Tim completed his studies at the police academy, and served with the City of Norwich Police Department with distinction for 13 years.

He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of New Berlin and a member and chapter president of the Central New York Gunfighters Motorcycle Club. Tim was a gun enthusiast and die-hard Buffalo Bills fan. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and grandson. Anyone who knew him knew without a doubt his love for his family, for his duties as a police officer, and serving his community.

Tim is survived by his parents, Patricia (David) Carpenter, Timothy (Kim) Annesi Sr.; sister Kerri (Richard) Smith, all of Norwich; brothers Ryan Harrington, of Oneonta, and Justin (Katie) Carpenter, of Norwich; nieces Olivia and Gabrielle Cashman, of Oneonta, Lydia Annesi, and Aubree Carpenter, each of Norwich, nephews Jadyn Carpenter and Keegan and Elijah Smith, each of Norwich; maternal grandmother Pearl Cleveland, of Sherburne, and grandparents Harriet and Claude Carpenter, of Norwich. Many aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive. Tim was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Dominic “Dusty” and Barbara Annesi, and maternal grandfather Floyd “Bill” Cleveland, as well as several uncles and cousins on both sides of his family.

A funeral service for Tim will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at the Broad Street United Methodist Church, in Norwich, where the Rev. Jeremy Stopford will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the Wilson Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
