Timothy D. Woodard

July 25, 1959 — March 8, 2022

Timothy “Tim” D. Woodard, 62, of Norwich, passed in the comfort of his home with family at his side on Tuesday, March 8, 2022.

Tim was born on July 25, 1959, in Sidney NY, the son of the late Ivan and Wanetta (Daniels) Woodard. He attended Norwich schools where he was active on the wrestling team. As a young man he worked on the Rowe View farm in Norwich. Tim graduated from Norwich High School in 1978 and began the next day a lifelong career with Norwich Eaton Pharmaceuticals. A devoted employee, who once cross-country skied to work in a blizzard, he worked his way up from various positions to Facilities Management Technician for Norwich Alvogen. In his spare time Tim coached pee-wee wrestling and youth soccer and enjoyed being outside fishing, hunting, hiking, biking, camping, and gardening. He was a dedicated father who traveled near and far to support his children’s athletic ventures and was an avid sports fan who loved the Chicago Bears and watching baseball and basketball with his wife.

Throughout his life, Tim always put his family first in every instance, a trait that made him the best husband, father, and Nonno. In fact, nothing brought Tim more joy than spending time in PA with his newest granddaughter, Kennady. He would light up every time she screamed for “Nonno.” He also enjoyed playing catch with his grandson, Trenton, and doing puzzles with his granddaughter, Hayley, as well as watching her dance. With his soft spoken, gentle nature, Tim had a way of making others feel at ease. Though a man of few words, he always had a perfectly timed, witty one-liner for every situation. He handled everything life threw at him with humility, grace, and courage and was the true definition of a warrior.

Tim married his high school sweetheart, Teresa Maiurano, on March 16, 1984 in St. Paul’s Church in Norwich. Together, they shared 37 years of marriage full of unconditional love and heartfelt surprises. They truly were each other’s best friend. Teresa and Tim shared in common interests throughout their married lives, including bicycling from Albany, NY to Buffalo, NY along the Erie Canal in 2010.

Tim is survived by his devoted wife, Teresa Woodard, of Norwich; his children, Alicia (Paul) Slack, of Norwich, and Jason (Sam) Woodard, of PA; grandchildren, Kennady Woodard, Hayley Slack, and Trenton Slack; siblings, Gary (Carrie) Woodard, of AK, Terry (Terri Ann), of Norwich, and Patrick (Joanne) Woodard, of Norwich; and sister-in-law, Patricia Woodard of Norwich. He was predeceased by his brother, James Woodard.

Friends are invited to call at the Wilson Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home immediately thereafter with the Rev. Ralph A. Bove, officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Norwich.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Hospice of Chenango County (Nurses Jenny and Kelly), Broome Oncology (Dr. Harris), and Nurse Practitioner (Tiffany Rivenburgh) for their continued care during Tim’s battle with brain cancer. The family would also like to thank Wilson Funeral Home for their kindness and comfort. Contributions in Tim’s memory can be made to STACHE STRONG (in support of brain cancer research at https://www.stachestrong.org).
