Thomas Dunne

Thomas Patrick Dunne, 51, died on September 21, 2014. He passed away following a heart attack at his home on the King Settlement Road.
Tom was born on December 10, 1962, the first child of James I. and Donna (Clifford) Dunne. He had battled bi-polar disease for most of his life, but never gave up. He enjoyed painting, reading and writing.
Tom graduated from Norwich High School in the class of 1981, and attended George Washington University. While in high school, he was a starter on the basketball team and played singles on the tennis team, both under Coach Ken Stewart. He also played soccer, and retained friendships formed during his four seasons at Camp Dudley. He lived in Washington, Boston, Los Angeles, and Rochester, before returning to Norwich 18 years ago.
He is survived by his parents, his grandmother Ann Clifford of Binghamton, his sister, Molly and Kevin Stokes of Fairport, his brother, James M. Dunne II of Norwich, aunts Mary Ann Taranto of Jupiter, Fla., and Sharon Clifford of Greene, uncle Marc Clifford of Binghamton, and nephews Jack and Shay Stokes and niece Ivory Stokes, and several cousins.
There will be a funeral mass for Tom at St. Paul’s Church on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 10:30 am. Friends may call at the Wilson Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 to 6 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Chenango SPCA, 6160 County Road 32, Norwich, NY 13815.
