Roy Parker

Roy L. Parker, 75, a Norwich native, died peacefully at his residence on Saturday, December 17, 2022. Born on July 22, 1947, in Norwich, Roy was the son of Walter Parker Sr. and Katherine (Holcomb) Parker. After competing his schooling, Roy worked for many years in the distribution department of the Bennet Ireland Company, in Norwich. He also worked for a time at Sheffield’s. Roy took great pride in making his yard and his lawn immaculate.

In 1968, in Sherburne, Roy married Clara (Manwarren) Parker, who survives. The two would spend 54 wonderful years together before Roy’s passing. For a time, they lived in North Carolina, but returned to Norwich to live in 2007.

In addition to his wife, Clara, Roy is survived by his children, Roger Foster and his partner, Charles Wilburn, Penny Monroe and her husband, Randy, and Candy Parker; grandchildren, Cassandra, Michael, Breanne, Tyler and Dillon; and great-grandchildren, Ryley, Addison, Corbin, Tristan, Zachary, Rebekah, and Donavin.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 12:30 am at the City Church, 97 Silver Street, Norwich, NY. Friends are invited to call at the Church from 11:30 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the South Plymouth Cemetery.
