Peter King

Peter J. King, of New Berlin, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 14, 2016 while rehabilitating from a recent surgery. He was 91 years old.

Born September 8, 1924, in Isleworth, England, Peter was the son of John T. and Alice (Norwood) King. After completing school and graduating with a bachelor’s degree, Peter served during World War II in the Royal Navy’s Fleet Air Arms.

The Royal Navy sent Peter to Canada for his air fleet training. After his discharge from the Royal Navy, and due to the depressed conditions in post-war Europe, Peter returned to his place of training in Canada to begin a new life. There, he began a long career with Kraft Foods and, through his service to the company, lived in various locations, including New Berlin, NY. He retired as one of the company’s managers.

It was in Canada that Peter he met his future wife, Marilyn Norwood, who survives. Peter and Marliyn were married on March 6, 1964, in North Canaan, CT.

In addition to his wife, Peter is survived by his children, Matthew, Jeffrey, Mark and Alison; grandson, Steven; and great-grandson, Maximus.

A memorial service for Peter will be celebrated at a later date, and interment will occur at the Ecco Yosemite Columbarium in Oakhurst, CA.
