Maude Dolgos

August 12, 1932 — November 26, 2015

Maude I. Dolgos, 83, of Norwich, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at UHS Wilson Hospital in Johnson City with family by her side.

Born August 12, 1932, Maude was the daughter of Bert and Ava (Adams) Harrington. She was a graduate of Greene Central Schools, and after graduation completed a degree as an LPN. Maude spent most of her working years as a nurse in the private practice of Dr. Jacobi. She also worked per diem in the emergency room of Chenango Memorial Hospital, nursed in the office of Dr. Hosbach, and worked in the anesthesiology office at the hospital.

On June 13, 1959, in Brisben, Maude married Frank J. Dolgos, who died on August 31, 2007.

Maude was an active member of the United Church of Christ, First Congregational. She was very fond of gardening, bird watching, cooking and playing cards in the club with her friends. She was also very involved in the Norwich Garden Club and the Home Bureau Club.

Maude is survived by her children, Debbie and her husband, Joe, and David Dolgos, all of Norwich; son-in-law Peter Somich, of Norwich; and grandchildren Marissa and Briana Phelps, and Peter John and Frank Somich. In addition to her husband, Maude was predeceased by her daughter Diane Somich, brother Donald Harrington, and sister Marge Alger.

It was Maude’s wish that a private graveside funeral service be held at the convenience of her family. There will be no calling hours.
