MARY TIMMONS

Mary G. Timmons, 64, was born in Norwich, NY, and passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 in Surprise, AZ. In heaven to welcome her are her sister, Patty Liberatore, and parents, Joachim and Frances Liberatore.

Mary grew up in a large, loving, close knit family in Norwich, NY. She attended St. Mary’s College in Notre Dame, IN, and earned a degree in Chemistry. She met her future husband, Paul, at the University of Notre Dame during their first week of classes and had been inseparable ever since. They married just after college and had three beautiful children. Mary was a stay-at-home mom for many years, always dedicated, placing her family before herself. She also volunteered extensively at church leading RCIA classes for many years in SC, CT, and WI, leading CCD classes in Mount Pleasant, SC, where she was the Director of Religious Education. She returned to working full time as an Events Coordinator for Catholic Charities, in WI, after her kids were grown. She also served as the parish Secretary for Our Lady of the Lake Parish in Ashland, WI. She enjoyed cross stitch, doing puzzles, reading, and spending time with her family; especially her three grandchildren. She was an incredible cook and a masterful baker, providing her talents to numerous charitable events and causes.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Paul; her children Geoffrey (Kristi) Timmons, Michelle (Ufuk) Orhan, and Andrew (Cassidy) Timmons; her grandchildren Leyla, Joachim,and Oliver; her sister Fran (Rich) Milanesi; as well as many loving brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday,May 31, 2019 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 23 South 3rd Street,Hoopeston, IL. . Burial will immediately follow at Floral Hill Cemetery 301 West Main St #1 Hoopeston, IL. After the burial a small gathering will take place at The Ave Maria Retreat Center, 27199 State Route 1, Danville, IL.
