Marilyn F. Kochersperger

Marilyn Fritts “Mrs. K” Kochersperger, 84, passed away in her home on Friday, April 22, 2022.

Born on December 4, 1937, in New Brunswick, NJ, Marilyn was the daughter of Francis and Edna (Schwiebert) Fritts. She was a graduate of Norristown High School, PA, as well as The Reading Hospital School of Nursing. She worked in several nursing positions, including Nurse/Stewardess on the Northern Pacific Railway. Marilyn met Albert Bruen Kochersperger on a blind date and married six months later on June 1, 1963, in Norristown.

Marilyn moved to Norwich, NY in 1971 and jumped right into the community. She was involved in too many activities to name, but some of the highlights include: long time Sunday school teacher at Broad Street United Methodist Church (finger Jello anyone?); President of the Board of Directors for Catholic Charities of Chenango County; lifetime member of the Norwich Garden Club; Board member of the Guernsey Memorial Library and the Four County Library System; Board member of Mount Hope Cemetery; and Volunteer Coordinator for the Norwich City Schools.

Marilyn was predeceased by her daughter, Kristin, and survived by her husband “Dr. K.”; her children Karl, Ann-Lisa (Jan), and Kurt; and her grandchildren, Rose, Gianna, and Callie.

A memorial service for Marilyn will be celebrated at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 6, 2022, at the Rogers Environmental Education Center, 2721 State Highway 80, Sherburne, NY 13460, where the Rev. Mary Rublee, pastor, Broad Street United Methodist Church of Norwich, will officiate. Friends are invited to stay thereafter to continue to share stories and memories of Mrs. K with her family. A private burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery will take place beforehand and at the convenience of the family.
