Lillian L. Pratt

May 2, 1942 — April 4, 2024

Lillian L. Pratt, 81, of Sherburne, died at her residence with her family at her side on Thursday, April 4, 2024.

Born on May 2, 1942 in Bainbridge, NY, Lillian was a daughter of the late George and Virginia (Morris) Pratt. She grew up in Coventry, Afton, and Bainbridge areas, graduating from Bainbridge High School in 1960. She furthered her education by attending nursing school, where she became a certified laboratory technician. Lillian worked at A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta and at The Hospital in Sidney in the lab.

Lillian was an avid baker, making hundreds of birthday and wedding cakes for hire. She always had an open door and helped many neighborhood children from taking the wrong path. Lillian had a huge heart for those in her life, new and old. She was a huge animal lover, bred Saint Bernards, and even had a pet raccoon, RC. Lillian also enjoyed farming and gardening.

Lillian is survived by her children, William (Tracy) Bowker, of Illinois, Patricia Bowker, of Sherburne, Sherry Guiles, of Norwich, and Carin Bousman, of Virginia; step-children, Jodi Bowker, Curtis Bowker, and Cindy Bowker; grandchildren, William Bowker, Lily Bowker, Jack Bowker, Ian Bowker, Robert Hill, Brady Bowker-Jemzura, Brent (Kelly) Palmer, Cory Palmer, and Zachary Roth-Moore; and her special great-granddaughter, Ava Palmer. She was predeceased by her daughters, Sarah Pratt and Anna Marie Roth; brother, George Pratt; son-in-law, Preston Bousman; and step-son, Tracy Bowker, Jr.

Lillian was able to stay at her residence thanks to the exceptional care provided by Hospice and Palliative Care of Chenango County. Lillian’s family also wishes to give special thanks her caretakers and to Bim Palmer for all his love, help, and support for his “Lily Patch.”

Services for Lillian will be held privately. Memorial contributions in Lillian’s memory may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Chenango County, 33-39 Court Street, Norwich, NY 13815 or to the Chenango SPCA, 6160 County Rd 32, Norwich, NY 13815.
