Jean A. Ross

Jean A. Ross, 64, of Norwich died on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at UHS Wilson Medical Center.

Jean was born in Haverhill, MA on May 1, 1959. She attended high school at Pinkerton Academy in New Hampshire and later attended Farleigh Dickinson University. She was employed as a trainer and a showman at several stables including Sullivan Davis and the Leone Brothers, which she enjoyed doing in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York. Later she worked on her own. When she moved to Norwich, her children were born and she started a full-time child-care service where she cared many children over the years. Jean loved being a mother and a grandmother. She was an animal lover, great baker, liked gardening, enjoyed arts and crafts, and really loved people, especially children and older people. She had a gift for making others happy.

She is survived by her longtime companion, John VanIngen, of Norwich; daughter, Daniellea (Daniel) Harter, of Vestal; son, Mark (Lindsey) Ross, of Norwich; grandchildren, Dominic Harter, Gray Harter, Easton Ross, and Reid Ross; sister, Gloria, several nieces and nephews; dogs, Dexter and Willow; good friends, Linda (Richard) Natoli; and former husband, John Ross. She was predeceased by her former father-in-law, Rev. Harry Ross and siblings; Richard, Sonny and Christine.

Friends are invited to call at the Wilson Funeral Home, in Norwich, on Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. with a funeral service to immediately follow.
