Brian D. Wood

Brian D. Wood, 39, of Norwich and Utica, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021. His passing was unexpected following a longtime battle with diabetes.

Born in Norwich on August 25, 1982, Brian was the son of Dale and Betty (Ellsworth) Wood. He was a graduate of Norwich High School. Brian had a variety of jobs both in Norwich and later in Utica where he relocated. He recently was employed by Austin-Mohawk as a manager for their manufacturing facility.

Brian loved hunting, fishing, ice fishing, and of course, his beloved football team, the San Francisco 49ers. He traveled across the state attending perch derby competitions. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Brian is survived by his mother, Betty Wood, of Norwich; his brother, Jason (Stacey) Wood, of Norwich; his nieces and nephews, Kyle, Kaden, Kayla, and Mara, all of Norwich; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends. He was predeceased by his father, Dale Wood, in 1998.

Friends are invited to call at the Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday, November 20, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. A celebration of life will follow the calling hours at the Elk’s Club, 14 East Main Street, Norwich, NY.
