Anna Mae Quincy

February 18, 1926 — March 15, 2020

Anna Mae Quincy, 94, a longtime resident of Norwich, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Chenango Memorial Hospital.

Born on February 18, 1926, in Jonesboro, TN, Anna Mae was the daughter of Ralph and Jessie (Keplinger) Guinn. Her family relocated to Norwich, where she graduated from Norwich High School in 1944.

Anna Mae worked for over thirty years as the head cook for Perry Browne Schools in Norwich. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Norwich where she volunteered at the many church events, including fundraisers, bazaars, and community dinners. She was also the church treasurer for a number of years. Anna Mae and her mother formed a ceramics business called “Corner Ceramics” which they did for a number of years together. She will always be remembered for her selfless gifts of time and generosity to her family and friends.

On August 11, 1946, Anna Mae married William R. Quincy, who predeceased her on May 16, 1977.

Anna Mae is survived by her daughter, Priscilla (Salvatore) Nicotra, of Syracuse; daughter-in-law, Beatrice Quincy, of Norwich; siblings, James (Linda) Guinn and Donna Guinn; sister-in-laws, Charlotte Guinn, Ginny Guinn May, and Phyllis Guinn; seven grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Ralph Quincy, on September 10, 2019; siblings, Vernon Guinn, William Guinn, Carl (Shirley) Guinn, Roy Guinn, and Bessie Brown.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Contributions in Anna Mae’s memory may be made to the First Baptist Church, 10 W. Park Place, Norwich, NY 13815, or Our Daily Bread Food Pantry, 37 W. Main St., Norwich, NY 13815.
