Alice G. Merlino

Alice G. Merlino, 64, a lifelong Norwich resident, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022 at the Chestnut Park Nursing Home in Oneonta, NY.

Born on April 15, 1958 in Norwich, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Dawn (Austin) Merlino. After her graduation from high school, she earned a bachelor’s degree from Wilkes University. Alice worked as a realtor for Northeast Realty in Norwich. She loved doing crafts and creative things and had many parrots and other birds over the years. Alice was an active Chenango County Hospice volunteer and helped in every way she could. She also was a breast cancer survivor for nearly 25 years. She is survived by her sister, Jeanette (William) Marston; niece, Barbara Ashman; nephews, Wayne and Andy Marston; several cousins; and dear friend, John Diuro.

Services for Alice will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 19, 2023 at St. Paul’s Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Chenango County, 33-39 Court Street, Norwich, NY 13815.
